Kochi March 1 After ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank, South Indian Bank has the largest network of branches with Core Banking Solution (CBS), among all the private sector banks in the country. "The bank has got 15 CBS branches more than its nearest rival, ING Vysya Bank," Dr V.A. Joseph, Chairman of South Indian Bank, said.

Presiding over the inaugural function of the bank's Guwahati branch, he said that it was with the intention of giving superior service to the customers that the bank started implementing CBS in 2001 when many other prominent banks in India were hesitant to do so. Besides Guwahati, the bank had recently opened branches at Marthandam in Tamil Nadu, Parappanangadi, Kondotti, Pathanapuram, Anchal, Nalanchira, Ernakulam North and Edappilly in Kerala.
