Kolkata March 2 Telecom billing and customer care solutions company Ushacomm has firmed up plans to extend its offerings to utilities and the BFI (banking, finance & insurance) sector. The company will soon offer customised solutions and shrink-wrapped products for these sectors. Prospecting with utility companies in Europe has already begun, according to Mr Tamal Bardhan, Head, Marketing & Alliance Group, Ushacomm.

Mr Bardhan told Business Line that hitherto Ushacomm had focussed on complete solutions for telecom operators in areas such as billing and customer relationship management. At present, the company has 25 telecom operators globally as its customers. These include Lattlekom of Latvia, Jabatan Telecom of Brunei and cable operator Knology of Atlanta, besides MTNL in Mumbai and Delhi.

According to him, Ushacomm was also focussing on mediation solutions, interconnect billing solutions and solutions for revenue settlement between content providers and telecom operators.

Mr Bardhan said the headcount at Ushacomm's software development centre in Kolkata would go up from 160 at present to 200 by the end of December 2007.
