Airtel Blackberry users to pay less

Airtel has announced a reduction on fixed monthly rental for its BlackBerry users from Rs 1,099 a month to Rs 249. In the new plan, apart from the fixed monthly rental Airtel BlackBerry users will be charged Rs 0.15 per kb of usage. The average monthly bill is expected to be cut by 40-45 per cent.

Airtel has also reduced the price of the BlackBerry 7100g handset to Rs 10,999. "Airtel has identified the need to offer a more affordable choice to those who were earlier unable to experience the combined power of Airtel and BlackBerry," said Mr Sunil Tandon, Senior Vice-President (Corporate and SME segment).
