Research & Development States - Kerala Water car! S. Mahinsha
A `WATER CAR' made by P.S. Vinod sets out to sea from Vizhinjam Harbour in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday morning. Mr Vinod, a refrigerator mechanic, went 2.5 km into the sea in the car and returned to the shores safely. He got the idea for the car after floods stalled his car during last monsoon and mortgaged his house to raise Rs 8.5 lakh to build it. He is an unhappy man today as no sponsor has come forward to support his invention.
