EC extends € 8 m under action plan support facility

New Delhi March 4 The European Commission (EC) is extending € 8 million under Action Plan Support Facility (APSF) to initiate activities under certain identified action plans.

A financing agreement to this effect was signedbetween Mr Kumar Sanjay Krishna, Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), and Mr Francisco Da Camara Gomes, Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the EC to India, on behalf of the EC.

The initiatives proposed include holding of dialogues, studies, workshops etc in order to open-up and reinforce the ways for exchange of information, experiences and best practices in the identified sectors.

The facility would focus on funding the activities in the sectors of environment, energy, study centres and business and industry cooperation, employment, labour issues and social policy.

An official release said that the period of execution of the Financing Agreement would be up to December 31, 2013 which will comprise two phases: an operational implementation phase ending on December 31, 2011 and from this date will commence closure phase that will end at the end of period of execution.
