Bangalore March 5 It was a prize that many people would only dream of. But for M. Satish, Assistant Manager - Engineering, Varroc Engineering Pvt Ltd, Aurangabad, it was more than a dream come true when he won a Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail bike, presented by Kennametal India Ltd, the Indian arm of the $2.3-billion Kennametal Inc. The bike, with a silver powder-coated Twin Cam 88B engine, is priced at about $18,000, reveals a Net search.

The bumper draw and award ceremony held here on Monday was the culmination of the seven-day show that the company put up as part of the IMTEX 2007 held here early this year.

IMTEX 2007 was an exhibition of machine tools and manufacturing solutions in South and South-East Asia organised by the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association. The event showcased progress made by the industry and saw a display of equipment with the latest technologies from 25 countries.

The company, in its pavilion at the expo, conducted a `mini draw' at the end of each day, and seven finalists were selected. The bumper draw on Monday had six finalists.

Handing over the key, Kumar Kanetkar, Managing Director, Kennametal India, said that it was always his dream to own a Harley-Davidson bike. "As a typical bike enthusiast of the 1970s, I used to ride a Yezdi bike. I want to ride a Harley-Davidson bike even now, an idea my wife and daughter are opposed to." May be, it was this craze that prompted him to give away the "dream bike" as the draw prize!
