Bangalore March 5 Oracle and Wipro Technologies announced on Monday that they have teamed to deliver Oracle Communications operations support systems (OSS) to Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) providers. The relationship will help address the challenges that are common with IPTV deployments, such as costly and lengthy service launches, high order fall-out and poor service visibility.

Wipro will offer Oracle Communications Provisioning, Service Activation, Subscriber & Service Management and Billing & Revenue Management solutions to the IPTV industry.

"By combining our in-depth research and development and system integration capabilities in the telecom domain with Oracle's leadership in IPTV and triple-play service fulfillment and billing, operators can leverage the full benefits of service automation, market-tested best practices and service delivery innovation to enable the low-cost and rapid delivery of these complex services," said Mr Suryanarayana Valluri, Vice-President, Telecom Service Provider Group, Wipro Technologies.

The Oracle Communications OSS/BSS suite enables the rapid and cost-effective delivery of IPTV services throughout the entire service lifecycle — from service incubation to service maturity. Its Service & Subscriber Management allows operators to quickly zero-in on an individual customer perspective and promptly sort out the service complexity inherent in IPTV environments.

Combining this offering with Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management helps service providers to quickly rollout innovative IPTV pricing and promotions, create targeted and competitive triple-play bundles, and create a customer-centric environment for charging and billing of all triple-play services.
