New Projects Kajaria Ceramics to set up plant in Gujarat Our Bureau
The Kajaria Group is also set to open 10 showrooms, known as Kajaria World, for its imported tiles business by 2009. Of these, the one at Kolkata is being opened shortly and three more at Chennai, Hydrabad and Goa will come up in the fiscal 2007-08, he told newspersons here. The Group inaugurated its fourth showroom for imported tiles in the country here today, after Gurgaon, Bangalore and Mumbai. The company now imports tiles from China, Italy and Spain for its niche clients.
Eyes imported tiles
With a 15 to 20 per cent growth in this sector, the largest manufacturer of ceramic floor and wall tiles in the country, is targeting the Rs 300-crore market for imported tiles. In India, the indigenous tiles market size is worth Rs 700 crore. Kajaria's turnover in the current fiscal was about Rs 420 crore. Kajaria offers indigenously manufactured tiles in the price range of Rs 20-40 per sq. metres and the imported ones between Rs 70 and Rs 250 per sq. foot offering a variety in more than 200 concepts and ideas.
