Internet 3WDirect offers Web-building products L.N. Revathy
Its promoter-Director, Mr Arvindh K Swamy, claims to have 80 per cent of the Web hosting services market in Coimbatore region. "A number of small firms and undertakings have subscribed either directly or through resellers. A majority of them do not have an IT department and engaging a Web developer has been an unaffordable proposition. Some of the companies that had engaged a Web developer could not maintain the site when the Web developer looked for better job openings and moved out," he explained. Comprehending the need of these small players, Mr Swamy and his team of eight, developed Web-building products under the `Microsite' brand. "Customers can log on to www.microsite.in, register and proceed to design the site on their own. Microsite supports hybrid Web sites with content management, can be developed in any Indian language and allows to configure for search engine indexing. The user does not require technical expertise to design and host the site. Basic typing knowledge and the ability to understand help desk commands would enable one develop and host the site from anywhere," Mr Swamy told Business Line.
3 products
The company has introduced three Microsite products - Basic, which allows the subscriber to host a one-page content site, Standard - providing for 5-page content and Pro- its ultimate product that supports up to 20 pages. A market survey undertaken by the company has revealed a phenomenal demand for `product gallery', especially among exporters. "The gallery would list out the product including its model, size, colour, price etc. This would give a fair idea to both - the manufacturer and consumer - about the customer's requirement," Mr Swamy explained.
