IIM-B: Global cos make offers

It was a mix of investment banks and consulting companies that made offers today to the graduating batch of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, UBS, HSBC, Barclays Bank, McKinsey, AT Kearney and BCG were some of the global companies that made offers. Some leading private equity firms, which visited the campus today include Sun Group, Actis, and Audax.

Other first-timers were Gartner, Bloomberg and CiC Intl, an investment bank firm from West Asia. Student media representatives said that several of these were at `overseas locations' such as London, Singapore, Florida, Brussels and Dubai. Day Zero placements are expected to be completed late tonight. Generally, more than one-third of the batch gets placed on Day Zero. Day One is reserved for IT, retail, marketing and FMCGs when most of the batch accepts job offers. The graduating batch of IIM-B of 2007 comprises 230 students.
