Hyderabad March 8 The Hyderabad based Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd (Midhani), an enterprise under the Ministry of Defence Production, won the silver trophy of "Scope Award for excellence and outstanding contribution to the Public Sector Management-Special Institutional (Turnaround) Category" for the year 2004-05.

The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, presented the award to Mr M. Narayana Rao, C&MD, Midhani, at a function in New Delhi today. The company, which is engaged in the manufacture of a wide range of special metals and superalloys to meet the critical requirements of strategic sectors, achieved "Excellent" MOU rating during 2004-05, for the second year in succession with a record sales turnover of Rs 131 crore and PBT of Rs 11.53 crore.

It has continued to improve on its turnover and performance in 2005-06 and is expecting to do so in the current financial year also.
