Rubber Focus on exports: Rubber Board chief Aravindan
Kottayam March 9 Those involved in rubber marketing should concentrate on rubber exports to stabilise prices in the domestic market, according to Mr Sajen Peter, Chairman of the Rubber Board. Considering the gradual fall in prices during the last few days, those dealing in rubber will have to take serious decisions in the market. The unhealthy situation created by futures trading had an important role in the prevailing market conditions, Mr Peter said.
Deliberate attempts
During the last few months, there have been deliberate attempts to artificially enhance the futures prices against the real prices ruling in the market. Thus, the domestic prices had gone up above the international prices and the unhealthy movements due to the artificial interference disrupted the market sentiments, he said. The warnings issued against this should be viewed seriously. Those who were working in the futures market should adopt a practical approach to ensure a sustainable attitude towards the market, he added.
