New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) observed the 36th National Safety Day here recently. Presiding over the function, Mr P. Tamilvanan, NMPT Chairman, stressed the importance of safety in port operations, and reiterated the port's commitment to looking after the safety of its employees. Mr M.A. Bhaskarachar, Deputy Chairman, NMPT, welcomed the gathering. A press release here said Capt. J.P. Menezes, President of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, delivered the keynote address on the occasion.
