Global cos keen to set up units in petro complexes

New Delhi March 9 Global petrochemical majors like Exxon, Shell, Dow Cornings, Dow Chemicals and many others have expressed their interest to set up plants in the proposed petroleum, chemicals and petrochemicals investment regions (PCPIRs) once details regarding locations and other concerns are finalised, the Minister of State for Industries, Mr Ashwani Kumar, told reporters here today.

The PCPIRs would be spread over areas ranging between 100 and 250 sq km each. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs okayed the PCPIR policy on Thursday.
