Alliances & Joint Ventures Lenovo, Avaya team up Our Bureau
Sources say that this would give users the highest level of security, usability and quality of service as they place and receive phone calls from their notebook PCs. This solution is also expected to enable Lenovo's integrated fingerprint reader and password manager technologies support Avaya's IP soft phone solution, to boost user authentication with a swipe of a finger. Both Lenovo and Avaya sources agree the combination would help prevent unauthorised access to the user's contact list and call history. While making it easy for users to gain secure biometric access to communications capabilities with one touch of the fingerprint reader located on the wrist pad of their notebook PCs, the integration between Avaya's IP communications software and Lenovo's Think Light is expected to transform the keyboard illumination function into a visual alert to check voice mail.
