Mumbai March 12 Jet Airways has announced the introduction of a new international flight between Ahmedabad and London with two flights every week from April 3. The service will be enhanced to three flights a week from May. Ahmedabad will be the fourth city in India to be linked with London by Jet Airways, following receipt of regulatory approvals. Mr Wolgang Prock-Schauer, the airline's Chief Executive Officer, said: "This is as part of our expansion plans, aimed at tapping the significant potential of Gujarat, which of late has seen an enhanced and steady inflow of investments." The Jet Airways flight will operate from Ahmedabad on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, while in the return direction, the flight from London Heathrow to Ahmedabad will be on Tuesdays and Sundays from April 3 to April 30. From May 1, an additional frequency will be added on this sector, on every Saturday from Ahmedabad and on every Friday from London Heathrow. Flight 9W 125 will depart from Ahmedabad at 14.10 hours and arrive in London Heathrow at 19.05 hours (local time). In the return direction, flight 9W 126 will depart London Heathrow at 22.35 hours (local time) and arrive in Ahmedabad at 11.45 hours (local time) the next morning. As part of its inaugural offer, Jet Airways has introduced a special economy class inaugural return airfare of Rs 24,000, exclusive of taxes. Jet Airways will operate the Ahmedabad - London-Ahmedabad flight with an Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The aircraft has been especially configured for international operations with 30 seats in premiere class and 196 seats in the economy class. The airline plans to extend its operations to North America, Europe, Africa and Asia in the coming years with the induction of wide-body aircraft into its fleet.
