Mumbai, March 12

IT infrastructure management services provider Allied Digital has entered into a partnership with the US based Echelon Corporation to provide open networking technology to the real estate market in India. The LonWorks technology (from Echelon) provides networking of everyday devices such as pumps, thermostats and lights.

"The LonWorks technology will identify the critical areas of energy consumption in a real estate set up, thereby enabling reduction in energy consumption for non-critical areas," Mr Jawahar Ali, Associate Vice-President of Allied Digital, said at a press meet today. This technology will control and optimise the use of airconditioners, lighting systems and other energy-consuming devices. Allied Digital is currently in talks with leading banks, corporates and builders to deploy this technology, said Mr Nitin Shah, Chairman and Managing Director, Allied Digital.
