Emirates presents awards to cargo agents

Hyderabad March 13 Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo division of Emirates Airline, honoured its top 10 agents in Hyderabad.

Mr Pradeep Kumar, Vice-President - Cargo Revenue Optimisation, SkyCargo, presented the awards to the top performing cargo agents, who included Hermes Travels and Cargo, Exel India Pvt Ltd and Far N Par Pvt Ltd.

Speaking at a function recently, Mr Pradeep Kumar, said, "As compared to the past five years, in the past year Hyderabad has witnessed a significant growth in the volume of cargo traded in the city."

Since launching operations to Hyderabad in July 2001, Emirates SkyCargo has carried goods including pharmaceuticals, healthcare products, biotech products, engineering goods, perishables such as vaccines, fruits and vegetables, mangoes and flowers to hazardous chemicals to various destinations.

Mr Laurence Jacobi, Cargo Manager — Andhra Pradesh, said "Emirates began its their services to Hyderabad with eight flights a week — the highest frequency as compared to any other foreign airline operating to the city yet.
