The Singapore-based Global Indian Foundation today announced collaboration with the Kakubhai Parikh School in Gandhidham to cater to the growing demand of international quality education with Indian values for the wards of those working at Kandla Port and adjoining areas in Gujarat.
The Kakubhai Parikh School is the first school in Gujarat to collaborate with the Global Indian International School (GIIS) and second in India after Pune. GIF, a non-profit foundation based in Singapore, has established schools in Asia Pacific in Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand and India and plans to open more schools in Australia and the US, according to a release here.
In 2004, Newsweek rated the GIIS as one of the best international schools in Singapore.
The Government of Singapore's Economic Development Board had invited the foundation to establish schools in Singapore. In 2006, the Japanese Government invited the GIF to set up an international school in Yokohama, which has highest number of foreigners. Similarly, the Government of Thailand's Ministry of Education has invited GIF to a high-level ministerial committee on education to make fundamental changes to Thai education.
