Surya Roshni launches new range

Our Bureau

Coimbatore, March 13

Manufacturer of lighting products — Surya Roshni — has introduced a new range of tubelights in the city. Mr B.D. Agarwal, Chairman, said the company's products were certified by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under its Star Rating programme.

According to him, the energy saving lamps consume up to 80 per cent less power than incandescent bulbs. "We offer a wide range of products. The commonly used ones are the 15W and 20W retrofit compact fluorescent lamps (CFL),'' Mr Agarwal said. Surya Roshni recently commissioned a CFL manufacturing unit at its existing plant in Malanpur, Madhya Pradesh.

According to Mr Agarwal, the new unit would initially produce five lakh lamps per month, but it would eventually be scaled up to 15 lakh during the first quarter of 2007-08. The company has a network of 30 branches, 3,000 distributors and over 3-lakh retailers marketing its products across the country. It aims to increase the number of retailers by another lakh very soon.
