Navneet Publications (India) Ltd has launched eco-friendly pencils made from renewable plantation wood in the Kerala market. Keeping in mind children's health and safety, the pencils are non-toxic, Mr Shailendra Gala, Vice-President, Navneet Publications, said in a statement.

The technology used to manufacture these pencils is popular internationally and has still to be explored in the Indian market, he said. The pencils are available in two types - stripes and metallic. Attractively packed in a box of 10, the costs are Rs 30 for the stripes variant and Rs 40 for the metallic.
