Our Bureau

Bangalore, March 14

The public sector Punjab National Bank (PNB) opened the Bidadi Industrial area branch, the first rural branch in Karnataka to be brought under the core banking solutions programme. A PNB release said here today, that plans were under way to introduce CBS in the remaining 6 rural branches of the State as well.

PNB currently has 43 branches in Karnataka. CBS would enable branch customers to avail of "anywhere banking facilities." This included the 2,400 branches, and close to 1,000 automatic teller machines in the country.
