Paper-bag showroom opened

An exclusive paper carry-bag showroom was inaugurated on Wednesday by Mr P. Janardhana Rao, the Mayor of the Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation, at Dondaparthi here. Mr B. Ganesh of the Visakha Jute and Paper Carry Bags unit set up at Kotthuru near Anakapalle in Visakhapatnam district, said 13 varieties of paper bags, of different hues, would be sold in the showroom, meant to promote the use of such bags.

He said the small-scale unit, set up at a cost of Rs 25 lakh, was supplying 10,000 bags every day. Different types of jute bags would also be sold. He said the plastic bags, costing half a rupee each, were highly harmful. The paper bags cost only 25 paise more and their use should be encouraged, he said.
