M. Somasekhar

Hyderabad March 14 The boom in the Indian infrastructure sector is luring companies from across continents. Nearly half a dozen companies from the manufacturing heartland of Australia - Victoria - have come to India to explore a possible role in the growth story.

AKD Softwoods, Techbeam, Bescon Industries, Sustainable Built Environments (SBE), Concreters Warehouse, with their top brass representing the $10 billion construction industry of Victoria have discussed business prospects with Indian majors in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Bescon Industries, a leader in decorative concrete products, is keen on a joint venture or establishing a franchisee to bring in its products to the Indian market. Mr Vince Greco, Managing Director, said the speciality of the company's products is that they would enhance the aesthetic appeal of concrete, without compromising its structural strength and low maintenance capabilities.
