DIP IN OUTPUT, EXPORT: A worker packing tea at a wholesale outlet in Kolkata. Tea production in January declined by 2.9 million kg (mkg) to 21 mkg on frost damage in Assam. Exports, on the other hand, also slipped 2.69 mkg to 13.77 mkg in January after posting an impressive performance in the second half of last year. Prices, however, are ruling steady at the auctions.
