Traders meet Kamal Nath

Our Bureau

New Delhi March 14 A delegation of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) met the Union Commerce Minister, Mr Kamal Nath, and demanded an immediate restriction on entry of multinationals and big corporate retailers into retail trade.

In a statement, CAIT said that during the meeting, the Minister assured that FDI in retail would be permitted only in electronics and the sports goods sectors. The delegation, however, felt that the entry of MNCs and big corporate houses into the retail trade would adversely affect the business of small retailers.
