Siemens-BHEL bags PowerGrid order

Mumbai March 14

Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution (PTD) and its consortium partner BHEL have been awarded an order by the Power Grid Corporation of India to construct 2,500 MW High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) terminal stations for a 780-km long HVDC transmission route between Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The consortium order is valued at 235 (about Rs 1,400 crore). Siemens has the overall responsibility for the project, including the design of the complete HVDC transmission systems.
