Markets - New Fund Offer
Surge of new proposals

Nilanjan Dey

The NFO scenario will remain lively in the coming days, thanks to the kind of proposals placed before SEBI lately for approval, sources say.

While many of these are plain equity funds, there are some unusual ones too.

Among the latter is Kotak Mahindra MF's Global Emerging Market Fund, which has identified a fund managed under T Rowe Price SICAV, a Luxembourg-domiciled vehicle, for constructing its portfolio.

This invests mainly in equity and equity-related securities of companies doing business in emerging countries.

It may be mentioned here that international investing is now a common theme for Indian fund houses.

Among the more interesting products mooted recently is Sundaram BNP Paribas Global Advantage, an FoF (fund of funds) that will invest, among others, in units of overseas ETFs.
