New Delhi March 15 McDonald's on Thursday said it would invest about Rs 3 crore over the next three years to strengthen its home delivery services. Towards this it launched an all-India single home delivery number — 66-000-666.

investment plan

"We plan to invest close to Rs 3 crore in enhancing McDelivery operations and our focussed marketing initiatives will fuel growth rates of at least 25 per cent per year, over the next three years," said Mr Vikram Bakshi, Managing Director and Joint Venture Partner, McDonald's India (North and East).

The company will be spending about Rs 4 crore in promoting the delivery system, including a television commercial slated to go on air on Friday.

Besides Delhi, NCR and Mumbai, the single number delivery system facilities will also be available in cities such as Chandigarh, Jaipur, Pune and Ahmedabad.

"We will be expanding the services to Tier 1 and 11 cities in the near future," Mr Bakshi said.

Substantial share

"McDelivery currently accounts for almost 5 per cent of the overall sales and with the introduction of the new system, the company is looking at a substantial share of 7.5 per cent in the turnover by next year," the company's MD said.

McDonald's also plans to add 25 new restaurants over the next year in the northern and eastern regions of the country. It had earlier announced investments of around Rs 400 crore for expansion in the same region.
