Websense security alert peaks

Our Bureau

Coimbatore, March 16

Security alerts appear to have peaked on March 15 with Websense Security Labs receiving reports of a phishing attack targeted at users of Virgin Media in the US and two reports of new malicious Web sites, one of which was designed to install a Trojan hosted in Korea and Hong Kong while the other (also aimed at installing a malicious site and password-stealing malicious code) was hosted in China.

The alert incidentally has come within days of the latest rash of malicious Spam (claiming `Slobodan Milosevic was assassinated' and of the `H5N1 bird flu virus' warning) reminding users not to click links in any unsolicited emails and advising them to keep systems patched with the latest security updates regardless of the browser used.
