Hussain takes over as JN port chief

Mumbai March 16 Mr Syed Shahzad Hussain took over as the Chairman of Jawaharlal Nehru Port on Friday. The post was lying vacant after the retirement of the previous Chairman, Mr Ravi Budhiraja, on May 31, 2006.

Mr Hussain was the Principal Secretary (Revenue), Department of Revenue and Forests, Government of Maharashtra. He held various positions in the Maharashtra Government, including District Collector of Latur, Additional Commissioner of Aurangabad Division and Secretary to the Department of Rural Development and Water Conservation Management.
