Chennai March 17 Global Adjustments, a company that helps people going abroad for work settle down in the new environment, has launched a new brand `Global Indian'. It is a cross culture e-learning portal targeted primarily at Indians going abroad. According to Mr Rajeshwar Balasundaram, Chief Operating Officer, Global Adjustments, the portal is developed due to demand from organisations to train their employees going abroad. "Until now, we sent our trainers to companies to carry out classroom training. But seeing the demand, we decided to offer a paid e-learning course so that employees can learn at their own pace," he said.
Live Training
The portal will attempt to create a live training experience through web-casts and virtual interaction platforms with trainers. It will address global etiquette and country specific skills to help social and business communication. As of now the portal, www.globalindian.com, has about 12 hours of content on India, the US and France. The company plans to add content on the UK, Germany and China next month, Mr Balasundaram said. "We have interacted with people from about 70 countries and plan to capture this on the portal," he said. Cognizant Technology Solutions has tried the portal and is in the process of offering it to all its offices across the globe, said Mr Lakshmi Narayanan, Vice-Chairman, Cognizant, at a press conference marking the inauguration of the portal. Mr Balasundaram said other companies too have initiated talks on using the portal but did not name them.
