Ramsarup announces 15% interim

Ramsarup Industries Ltd, a major player in steel wire business and a company engaged in laying power transmission lines, has announced an interim dividend of 15 per cent. The board hasrecommended payment of interim dividend, the record date for which has been fixed as March 23. According to a press release issued by the Kolkata-based company, during the nine months ended December 31, 2006, net sales stood at Rs 886.4 crore, a 27 per cent rise compared with Rs 697.66 crore recorded during the corresponding period of fiscal 2005-06. The profit after tax during April-December 2006 was Rs 13.87 crore, up from Rs 8.2 crore recorded in April-December 2005. The release states that export earnings during the first nine months of the current fiscal stood at Rs 36.75 crore. In fact, till date, exports during the current fiscal have gone up to Rs 58 crore as against Rs 14 crore during the last financial year.
