Logistics - Railways
Project on track

The importance of the project was first felt as early as the 1920s, yet the final link between Keonjhargarh and Tomca covering 99 km, on the 155-km long Daitari-Banspani line to facilitate exports of iron ore from the mineral rich region of Orissa, was commissioned only in February. Unfortunately, the line is yet to be ready for regular movement of rakes. The sole rake operated on an experimental basis on the route threw up some problems which, hopefully, will be overcome shortly to enable the East Coast Railway (ECoR) run regular freight services on the route.
