`SMBs aware of tech adoption benefits'

Our Bureau

Coimbatore March 19 `Small and medium business units have realised the imperative need for adoption of IT solutions in their business processes. Proliferating this rising awareness across every unit is the challenge we face today,' notes Mr Anup Verma, Regional Sales Director, Mid-Market Technology, Oracle India.

Stating that Oracle was not aiming to provide a solution with just the software functionalities but strived to make the modules simple, user friendly and in a language familiar to the customer, he said, `There will be those odd-customers for whom we may not have a solution fit. We are trying our best to address their needs,' he said.

Oracle has, since starting this initiative of focusing on the SMB segment, strengthened its customer base. `We have over 4,500 SMBs customers. But considering the growing number of units (there are over 18 lakh units), we have a long way to go. The challenge is in reaching those potential customers with the kind of solutions they need,' Mr Verma told Business Line.
