Hyderabad March 19 The Andhra Pradesh Government will come out with a knowledge policy to encourage and promote research institutions in the State.

Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the Chief Minister, said the State was in the process of formulating the policy. He was addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for DuPont India's Knowledge Centre near here on Monday.

Listing the advantages of Hyderabad, which had emerged as the knowledge hub of the country, he said the upcoming Outer Ring Road (ORR) would further strengthen the infrastructure in the State capital.

Investments

DuPont, which will spend Rs 100 crore on the facility coming up at the ICICI Knowledge Park, had lined-up investments to the tune $100 million for the year as part of its reinvestment plan to increase its speed-to-market for new seed products.

A good part of it could go into the Hyderabad facility.
