Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) will conduct the 27th annual `Kisan Mela' at Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada district from April 4 to 6. Addressing presspersons at Bantwal, Dr D. Veerendra Heggade, Chairman of SKDRDP, said the SKDRDP has been conducting `Kisan Melas' as part of the agricultural extension activities being taken up by it.

The `mela' is intended to build confidence among farmers. Panel discussions will be held on water conservation, fund management in self-help groups, and future farming, he said. The mela, which is likely to attract more than one lakh visitors, will have more than 200 exhibition stalls. He said that SKDRDP would expand its operations in Chikmagalur and Shimoga districts from April. At present, it operates in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts.
