Industry-specific tools from Oracle

Our Bureau

Hyderabad March 20 Enterprise software maker Oracle on Tuesday announced a new business strategy through its Accelerate Programme that offers a comprehensive set of industry specific applications for the rapidly growing small and medium business segments.

Over 80 industry specific applications would be handled through 50 plus partners in the Asia Pacific region and of them 11 would cover the Indian marketplace.

The Vice President of Application Product Solutions, Oracle Asia Pacific, Mr Adrian Johnston, told Business Line, "There is marked difference in the way we approach the market with this programme. Oracle has made significant number of acquisitions over the last 24 months and this initiative draws upon capabilities from several of these acquisitions to extend best of breed solutions for enterprises depending on their specific demands."

In fact, this would also cover some of the services offered in the form of software as a service option, particularly in the customer retail management and retail business segments. Oracle is particularly eyeing the manufacturing, financial services, life sciences and pharmaceuticals among others through this drive, he explained.

This programme would not be successful without the participation and contribution of partners who would contribute with their resources and intellectual property.

Wipro, Sonata, Bluestar, HCL Technologies, L&T Infotech, Satyam, Hexaware are among partners in India.
