TNG Cotton Casuals expanding in South

Plans to expand base to Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala

Hyderabad March 20 TNG Cotton Casuals, a New Delhi-based brand, launched its first exclusive men's wear single brand showroom in Hyderabad on Tuesday. It plans to expand its base to Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, alongside launching suite of men's accessories.

With this, TNG has 51 stores across India and plans to open three more in Hyderabad on franchisee mode and 10 more across the State with an investment of Rs 20 lakh each in the next three months.

"We opened around 23 showrooms across India last year. Our strategy is to grow our business in a State-wise manner," said Mr Ankit Agarwal, Director of TNG Enterprises, at the store's inauguration. With a turnover of Rs 60 crore last year, the company is expecting to grow up to Rs 80 crore and increase sales by 30 per cent this year. The company's exports to West Asia, Austria, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh amounts to Rs 20 crore per annum.

The men's wear company plans to expand its product line from shirts, t-shirts, trousers, denims and jackets to accessories such as wallets, hankies, socks, ties, belts and credit-card folders. The Hyderabad showroom will also have imported laptop bags and suitcases.

The brand, that is already available at leading stores such as Hyderabad Central, Chandana Brothers and J.C. Brothers in the twin cities, claims to be an established name in 800 multi-brand outlets across India.

Distributor of TNG Enterprises in Andhra Pradesh, Mr M. Maniesh, said, "As an inaugural offer, customers will be given 20-25 per cent discount on laptop bags and suitcases."

The shop will also be running buy five and get five free scheme on clothes for a limited period, he said. Mr Agarwal said that company focuses on technical aspect of fashion too. Its innovations include Chillers range of premium trousers with sweat absorption and evaporation quality, Mach-5 — is ultra-violet radiation-resistant and skin-friendly cotton trousers, and Scotchgard is stain and dust-free range of trousers. The range of clothes starts from Rs 799 and goes up to Rs 1,799.
