Biocon begins work on research unit

Bangalore, March 21

Biocon said it had begun work on the new research facility of its subsidiary Syngene and its US research partner Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. A ground breaking ceremony was held on Wednesday. Dr Francis Cuss, Senior Vice-President, Pharmaceutical Research Institute, BMS, laid the foundation stone. The dedicated facility at the Biocon Park, a captive SEZ, will house 400 scientists in the next three years. The centre is aimed at advancing BMS's discovery and early drug development in India.
