Spot rubber prices improve

Kottayam March 21 Spot rubber prices improved on Wednesday. Covering groups and certain buyers from the futures market were moderately active in the main centres, sources said.

RSS 4 moved up to Rs 89 from Rs 88.50 a kg at Kottayam and Kochi. The market made all-round gains on better demand.

Futures firm

The rubber futures continued to rule firm possibly on a speculative buying on NMCE. The last traded price for April was quoted at Rs 91.06 (90.74), May at Rs 95.38 (94.66), June at Rs 98.42 (97.82) and July contract at Rs 100.55 (99.86) a kg for RSS 4.

The May delivery for RSS 4 improved to Rs 94.79 a kg against Rs 94.38 a kg on MCX. Spot rubber prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 89 (88.50); RSS-5: 87.75 (87); ungraded: 87 (86.50); ISNR 20: 87.25 (86.50) and latex 60 per cent: 63.15 (63.15).
