Retailing Swarovski plans 30 new outlets by 2009 Our Bureau

New Delhi March 22 Swarovski India Pvt Ltd, the Indian arm of the Austrian crystal maker, Swarovski, announced during the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Swarovski Crystal Society here that it would open 30 new retail outlets by 2009. "We are targeting to reach around eight to nine million people in the Indian market by the end of 2009," said Mr Shiv Kumar, Country Manager, Swarovski India. The company has also planned an entry into the Indian market for jewellery, clothing, lampshades and chandeliers, he said, adding that the company would organise special events to familiarise high-end customers with its products. During the celebrations, the company also launched a piece, `The Collector', a crystal bee on a hibiscus with a peach coloured stamen, priced at Rs 9,745, to be available exclusively for all members of the society in India.
