Health tourism meet from tomorrow

Kochi March 22 The Kerala Health Tourism 2007 is all set to kick off on Saturday with participation from major Indian and international stakeholders, hosting of an international conference and showcasing 70-80 stalls displaying products and services.

The event, being organised by CII and Kerala Tourism, is expected to provide a common meeting point for buyers and sellers of these products and services. Leading national and international insurance companies, third party administrators, airlines, embassies, trade offices, major hospitals, hotels and resorts, travel and tour operators and other organisations are expected to participate in the event.

GLOBAL PARTICIPATION

The two-day conference expects 700 to 800 delegates from all over the world. It will have speakers of international repute from among the global health tourism industry and domestic healthcare providers, insurance companies, tourism and government officials.

Kerala Health Tourism 2006 was the first such event held in the country, which helped in creating awareness and promoting Kerala as a health tourism destination. As a result, health tourism industry in the State grew by 30 per cent last year.
