SITEL to start BPO at Gurgaon

The US-based business process outsourcing company SITEL Corporation has announced the setting up of its sixth customer contact centre in India. It would be based in Gurgaon with a capacity of 2,000 people in the first phase and would expand to about 4,000 in the coming years. "

To start with, we have employed 500 people and we plan to ramp it to 4,000 employees. We expect the Gurgaon to be the largest centre here," said Mr Safir Adeni, Chief Executive Officer, SITEL India Ltd. SITEL India employs 4,000 people in the country and 65,000 globally in 28 countries. The company's 73 per cent business is based on voice services and the remaining comes from the non-voice segment. It is a $2 billion company, of which $500-million is accrued out of its domestic operations.
