Rubber Spot rubber prices turn bullish Aravindan
Kottayam March 22 Physical rubber prices were extremely bullish on Thursday. Excellent gains in major international indices kept covering groups and purchase agents aggressive throughout the session. Sheet rubber closed at Rs 90 against Rs 89 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi. Though major manufacturers stayed inactive, the market recorded smart gains in all grades including latex with an improvement in volumes.
Futures firm
The rubber futures maintained the firm trend on strong global support. The April contract for RSS 4 concluded at Rs 94.22 a kg (306 lots) against Rs 91.70 on MCX. The April contract for the grade flared up to Rs 92.60 (91.16), May to Rs 96.85 (95.42), June to Rs 99.95 (98.54) and July to Rs 101.90 (100.55) a kg on NMCE.
The April futures for RSS 3 closed better at 267.9 Yen (Rs 99.62) against 261.5 Yen a kg at TOCOM. It's spot firmed up to Rs 98.49 from Rs 98.31 a kg at Bangkok. Spot rubber prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 90 (89); RSS-5: 89.50 (87.75); Ungraded: 88.50 (87); ISNR 20: 89 (87.25) and latex 60 per cent: 64.20 (63.15).
