Radhakrishna Hospitality gets railway kitchen design deal

Mumbai March 22 Radhakrishna Hospitality Services Pvt Ltd has won the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd contract to design three base kitchens at Mumbai Central, New Delhi and Howrah railway stations.

The kitchens will be designed according to the `cook-chill' system of food production and delivery, Radhakrishna Hospitality said in a press release issued on Wednesday. The cook-chill system allows meals to be prepared in advance, chilled for short-term storage, and re-heated for serving.

The food services company provides services on-board the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Karnavati Express and the Mumbai-Kanyakumari Express. The company provides these services under its Rail Rasoi brand.

It also secured the on-board food service contracts at for the Mumbai-Gorakhpur Awadh Express and the Amritsar-Haridwar Jan Shatabdi Express earlier this year.
