HC fiat on FedBank staff strike

Our Bureau

Kochi March 23 The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the Director General of Police to see that the Federal Bank employees who would go on an indefinite strike from Monday do not cause any obstruction to the free entry and exit of the officials and staff of the bank willing to work and also to the customers in all the branches in the State.

The Division Bench comprising the Acting Chief Justice, Mr K.S. Radhakrishnan, and Mr Justice M.N. Krishnan passed the order on a writ petition filed by the Federal Bank Deputy General Manager.

The petition sought a direction to the police to provide adequate police protection for running the various branches in the State. The petitioner said the employees decided to go on strike in protest against the disciplinary action taken against some delinquent employees.
