Oceanic set to launch health card in India

Our Bureau

Kochi March 26 Oceanic Health Plus, a Dubai based health tourism player, is all set to launch an innovative health card in India, offering preventive healthcare tourism packages.

The card guarantees quality services at special discounted prices to tourists travelling to the country. The company is also targeting to drive medical tourists from the UK and other Western countries to boost traffic.

FOCUS ON DIAGNOSIS

OHP will focus on about 20,000 medical tourists coming to India in its first phase of operation till September 2008, Mr Venu Menon, Chief Executive Officer, said. Rather than focussing on the treatment part, the company plans to focus on the diagnostic aspect in the first phase, he said.

STRATEGIC TIE-UPS

The company, which has significant presence in the UK and West Asia, has already entered into strategic tie-ups with several Indian healthcare institutes in Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kolkatta and Ahmedabad, he said.

Dental clinics and several ayurvedic resorts across Kerala are part of the network. The company is also in discussions with many health care establishments for possible association, he said.

The international launch of the health check-up card was made in London a few months ago.
