Outlook Intelligroup moves into new verticals V. Rishi Kumar
Hyderabad March 26 IT solutions provider Intelligroup is eyeing the growing Latin American market and has begun to expand its presence in financial services and hi-tech verticals. The Vice-President for Marketing and Alliances for Intelligroup, Mr Alok Pant, said, "The company's thrust on life-cycle management in the areas of manufacturing, life sciences, consumer products continues to grow and to this we have added financial services and hi-tech verticals." Speaking to Business Line, Mr Pant said over the next two years, most of the enterprises, who have deployed enterprise resource planning systems, would seek to upgrade their technologies and build new services. This upgrade is a new mantra in the enterprise technology space wherein the effort would be towards adding new services using services oriented architecture and building new applications. Mr Pant said Intelligroup has been positioned as the number one in SAP developer network and this is being complemented by other streams of business such as testing handled in partnership with Hewlett Packard and Compuware. Application testing has also become one of the key offering for Intelligroup. With revenues of $126 million, the company employs over 2,100 people across development centres, including 1,400 in India and about 400 in the US. Apart from the US, in Europe and particularly the UK, the business is growing. It is now zeroing on tapping the Latin American market with presence in Brazil.
More opportunities
The company also sees the domestic Indian market offering opportunities for expansion covering areas of upgrades, application maintenance and support and testing services. Referring to business process consulting solutions, Mr Pant said the company employed about 60 chartered accountants in India who bring deep domain knowledge to the financial services practice helping develop solutions around enterprise software deployments and upgrades.
