New version of Riverbed tool

Riverbed plans to release its version of WAN optimisation software for individual PC users soon.

"We will launch a WAN optimisation software for laptop users this summer," said Mr Josh Tseng, Director, Technical Marketing, Riverbed, speaking at the launch of the new version of its WAN (wireless area network) optimisation software - Riverbed Optimisation System (RiOS).

The US-based Riverbed Technology earned $90.2 million in fiscal 2006, ended December. The forward guidance for this fiscal is $180 million.

WAN optimisation devices were previously used between headquarters and branch offices but are now being used between data centre and disaster recovery sites, too, said Mr Vivek Singh, Regional Director - India, Riverbed Technology India.
